I am giving this game a solid 5-stars rating.  There are many first-person shooter games but finding a good one with realistic console-quality has proven more difficult.   It earns the 5* rating as it is visually impressive and fantastic controls although it doesn’t deliver anything new in terms of game play to the genre.

 

 

 

 

First of all, it can be played in different mode: Local, Online  and Bluetooth MULTIPLAYER.  Once you start the game, step into the new action-thriller that will plunge you into the heart of modern war. Assigned to Mission Sandstorm, your duty is to locate and annihilate a new terrorist cell setting up shop and recruiting foreign insurgents in a remote desert hot spot. This jarring first person shooter will equip you with the most sophisticated and powerful modern-day weapons.

There are many impressive features which is highly entertaining such as:

1. 10 missions featuring varied and highly polished Middle Eastern environments (city, hospital, sewers, port, lab, training camp etc...)
2. Local multiplayer (through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth) and online multiplayer (through Wi-Fi connection): Up to 4 players competing in Deathmatch or Team Deathmatch in 3 Multiplayer maps
3. Intuitive iPhone controls offer unprecedented game fluidity. Choose among 3 different control systems: Default Controls, Screen Tap and Virtual Sticks
4. Use a wide range of authentic, advanced weapons (2 assault rifles, sniper rifle, RPG, shotgun, submachine gun, light machine gun, heavy machine gun mounted on a moving 4X4, explosive grenades, flashbang grenades, radiation detector) enriched with a leveling system that allows the player to progressively unlock weapons and use munitions from fallen foes
5. Aim and shoot with extra precision in Sniper and Ironsight mode
6. Highly polished 3D graphics provide full immersion into the military experience and high intensity combat
7. Cinematic snippets, military voice-overs and true-to-life situations increase game realism

Set in the Middle East, Modern Combat takes you through 10 missions with four modes of difficulty: easy, medium, hard and an unlockable extreme mode.  I am impressed by its near console-quality 3D graphics, the full rounds out the combat experience with voiceovers, cinematic video clips, and explosive sound effects. The graphics and animation are fluid with little to no lag.

Modern Combat is an impressive game with terrific graphics with a strong storyline, responsive controls, and a well-tuned controls gameplay. The varied gameplay should satisfy FPS fans, and even novice players will want in on the fun of killing terrorists.
